Alloro is one of Mayfair’s favourite Italian restaurants, having served top notch Italian cuisine to this exclusive part of London since 2000. Meaning bay leaf in Italian, Alloro boasts a smart and stylish dining room, typical of most fine dining establishments in Italy with crisp white table linens covering each and every immaculately laid table. Il Baretto is the typical Italian bar area of the Alloro restaurant and is always jam packed with the local Mayfair contingent as well as well heeled local business types, all enjoying light bites and glasses of fine Italian wines or grappa’s. The restaurant menu is the main appeal of Alloro though and is the real reason this restaurant has stood its ground in Mayfair. High end Italian cuisine is what this place is all about. Among the incredible list of starters you’ll find dishes like pan fried scallops with fennel salad and saffron vinaigrette, thinly sliced roast suckling pig with mixed leaves and rabbit ravioli with tomato concasse and Cerignola green olives. Main courses are equally as impressive such as pan fried rack of lamb with Castelluccio lentils and sweet button onions, fillet steak served with crushed potatoes or gragnano spaghetti with fresh lobster, garlic and sweet chilli sauce just a few examples. The wine list doesn’t let anyone down either, where strong Tuscan influences can be seen. Alloro is exactly the fine dining Italian experience that Mayfair is proud to boast.
