CHRISTOPHER'S

18 Wellington Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7DD

Type of cuisine: North American

Average price: £40.00     Nearest tube: Covent Garden

Christopher's restaurant in Covent Garden is one of London's leading North American restaurants

Christopher's restaurant London in the heart of Covent Garden is a classic, yet casual, very elegant London restaurant. From the moment you enter the restaurant via the grand, sweeping staircase you know you're in for something special. The dining room is spacious & airy with massive windows & high ceilings & the staff make you feel welcome straight away. The food at Christopher's restaurant follows a modern American style, but does so with a touch of style & sophistication. The stunning Maryland crab cakes spruced up with a tangy red pepper aïoli, or tender, tasty blackened rib-eye steak with crispy buttermilk fried onions are both real winners at Christopher's, as was the vanilla souffle with peach ice cream, but it's the attractive, friendly environment that really makes this restaurant shine. It's always advisable to book in advance as this restaurant is very popular with theatre goers as well as the local Covent Garden business community.

My husband and I ate at Christopher's on Monday 15th June. The food was lovely, the service was spot on. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We went pre-theatre and it did make our night. The staff do not rush you, meaning that there is plenty of time between the courses. The price is average not expensive. The staff are helpful welcoming they made us feel very special.

Had a wonderful late dinner on Saturday 7 June 2008. Staff were really pleasant and the food was delicious. Menu was varied to suit all tastes. If you're looking for a dining experience to complement your trip to the theatre, then you can't go wrong with Christopher's.

Had a fabulous brunch. Service, food and ambience was very good. Service was very attentive. Food was very tasty, good portions. Relaxed place. Loved the giant lampshades. Started with a well portioned steak (cooked perfectly to order) and crisp fluffy chips, and ended the meal with gorgeous french toast with a compote of fruit. Would definitely go back for brunch again. Reasonably priced considering the quality of food and service.
