Tasty Moroccan food, live belly dancing and North African beats make for a great meal out at London’s Maison Toureg restaurant

 

Formerly known as Maison Touaregue, the superb Maison Touareg restaurant serves up authentic Moroccan cuisine to a fashionable crowd in London’s Soho. Step through the ornate doors into a Moroccan paradise, with low tables and lanterns and stylish Moroccan inspired cushions and throws. Locate din the heart of Soho on the corner of Greek Street and Old Compton Street, Maison Touareg is a great spot for socialising with friends or for a pre theatre bite. The native Moroccan and Lebanese chefs have created an excellent menu full of authentic flavours and tastes. The lamb tagine has to be the top dish, closely followed by the delicious chicken pastillas flavoured with honey and cinnamon and served with cous cous and sweet chutney. If you really want to get into the North African vibe then the shisha smoking and live belly dancers add a bit of spice to the proceedings. The downstairs bar is open until 3am where you can dance the London night away to funky North African beats. I went there with some friends last Saturday. We were amazed by the magic atmosphere! Were sat downstairs and had lamb kebabs and cous cous. Yummy authentic food and great service. Had a shisha after the meal which rounded off a very lovely night! def recommend it if you like the North African culture...
