Red Fort

RED FORT

77 Dean St, London W1D 3SH

Type of cuisine: Indian

Average price: £40.00     Nearest tube: Oxford Circus

Red Fort Soho has a sparkling elegant decor that uses materials from Dheli's Red Fort, the court and residence of the builder of the Taj Mahal

Red Fort was probably one of the first real Indian restaurants to shake of the stereotypical flock wallpaper and sitar music image. And it hasnt looked back since that glorious day. It has now become a firm favourite in central London among night owls, party animals and locals. Its latest incarnation as a freshly decorated and good value Indian eatery is well established. Experienced chef Mohammed Rais has a strong background in delicious traditional Mughal cooking and this is the difference you can expect to enjoy. The menu offers an unusual selection of dishes including dum ka lobster, infused with cumin and avadhigosht biryani, all backed by a superbly masterful wine cellar and award winning cocktail bar beneath called Akbar. The decor at Red Fort is contemporary but restrained, & well-spaced tables add to a soothing atmosphere that creates a fabulous dining experience that comes highly recommended.
